Meet Your Officiant

Hi, I'm Bob Knudsen.

I'm a Vermont-based wedding officiant, husband, father, public speaker, and longtime community volunteer. I've been ordained since 2007 and created Green Mountain Wedding Ceremonies to help couples celebrate one of life's most important moments in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and authentic.

Whether you're planning a large wedding, a small family gathering, or a simple elopement, my goal is always the same: to help create a ceremony that reflects who you are and what your relationship means to you.

My Approach

I believe the best wedding ceremonies strike a balance.

They should be meaningful without feeling stiff. Personal without becoming uncomfortable. Organized without feeling scripted.

Some couples want a traditional ceremony rooted in faith and family traditions. Others want something secular and contemporary. Many want something in between.

There is no single "right" way to get married.

My role is to listen, guide, and help create a ceremony that feels natural to you.

What You Can Expect

When we work together, you'll have an officiant who is:

Prepared

I take the responsibility seriously. From planning conversations to ceremony preparation and marriage license paperwork, I work to make the process smooth and stress-free.

Flexible

Every couple is different. Ceremonies can be traditional, non-denominational, secular, interfaith, formal, relaxed, humorous, or somewhere in between.

Professional

Public speaking and communication have been a major part of my professional life. I understand how to speak clearly, keep a ceremony moving, and help everyone feel comfortable and engaged.

Personal

Your ceremony shouldn't feel like it was pulled from a template. We'll work together to create something that reflects your relationship, values, and vision for the day.

A man in a gray shirt, cap, and sunglasses reads from a paper while standing outdoors on a sports field during sunset. A group of people in colorful athletic attire stands in the background, smiling and listening.

A Vermont Perspective

One of the things I love most about officiating weddings is the variety of places where couples choose to celebrate.

I've always appreciated Vermont's unique character: historic villages, mountain views, family farms, country inns, village churches, lakeshores, and backyard gatherings. Every setting brings its own atmosphere, and every couple brings their own story.

Whether you're a lifelong Vermonter or planning a destination wedding in the Green Mountains, I would be honored to help make your ceremony memorable.

A Little More About Me

Outside of officiating weddings, I am active in community and nonprofit organizations throughout Vermont and work professionally in communications and public engagement.

Most importantly, I'm a husband and father who understands that lasting relationships are built on commitment, partnership, patience, and a healthy sense of humor.

Those same qualities often make for the best wedding ceremonies.

Let's Talk

Every wedding starts with a conversation.

If you're planning a wedding in Vermont and looking for an officiant, I'd love to learn more about your plans and help you create a ceremony that feels right for you.
